Victoria Azarenka confirmed her status as the world's top player by thrashing Sam Stosur in the final of the Qatar Total Open.
The Belarusian, who won the Australian Open last month, completed a 6-1 6-2 victory in just 67 minutes as she clinched her third WTA title of the year.
Azarenka broke last season's US Open winner five times and has now won her last 17 matches since the start of 2012.

Azarenka said after her latest victory: "It feels amazing to win this title. I have been coming here quite a few times, also for the WTA Championships, and I never even reached the final, so for me it's extra special to win here. I really like this tournament a lot.
"She has a huge serve, and the first shot, that's where she puts the opponent on the run, and you run so far behind the baseline. I tried to take that away from her."
Azarenka is 4.50 to win the second Grand Slam of the year, the French Open, while Stosur can be backed at 13.00 and Maria Sharpova at 7.00.
Meanwhile, the Spanish teenager Lara Arruabarrena-Vecino won her first WTA title by beating Alexandra Panova of Russia 6-2 7-5 in the final of the Copa BBVA Colsanitas. However, Panova did gain some consolation by winning the doubles final alongside Eva Birnerova.
