Coyle backs AVB to succeed

Under-fire Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has received support from Bolton counterpart Owen Coyle ahead of Saturday's clash at Stamford Bridge.
The future of the Chelsea manager is coming under increasing scrutiny with the team lying in fifth place in the Premier League and facing an uphill task to progress in the Champions League following this week's 3-1 defeat to Napoli. They have failed to win any of their last four league games and needed a late equaliser in their FA Cup tie with Birmingham to force a replay against the Championship side.

In the long term, there is no doubt he (Andre Villas-Boas) will bring success to Chelsea as far as I am concerned.

The Blues are now 351.00 to finish in the top four of the Premier League and are 11.00 to defeat Napoli 3-0 in the return leg of their Champions League tie.
However, Coyle, no stranger to pressure himself, has backed Villas-Boas to come through. His side are 34.00 to defeat Chelsea 1-0, while a 1-1 draw is available at 10.00.
"Anybody can have dips in form or have little bits of luck go against them," said Coyle, who studied for his UEFA Pro-Licence coaching course with the Chelsea manager.
"People are talking about Chelsea's results, but if you watched them against Manchester United when they led 3-0 (in the 3-3 league draw at Stamford Bridge earlier this month), I don't think people were questioning anything about that.
"Everyone has an opinion in football and that is why we love it, but I'm pretty sure Andre in the short term will address things and in the long term, there is no doubt he will bring success to Chelsea as far as I am concerned."
